Chapter 1 - Definitions
For the purposes of these terms, the following definitions apply:
Cancellation Period: The period during which the customer may exercise the right to cancel.
Customer: An individual who is not acting at a professional or business level and who enters into a distance sales agreement with a business.
Date: The calendar date.
Long-Term Agreements: A distance sales agreement related to products and/or services provided for an extended period.
Long-Term Device: A tool that enables the customer or business owner to store information in a way that allows easy access and permanent display.
Right of Cancellation: The customer's right to cancel a distance sales agreement within the cancellation period.
Business Owner: A person or organization offering products and/or services for distance sales to customers.
Distance Sales Agreement: An agreement made using a communication tool that does not involve face-to-face contact between the customer and business owner.
Communication Tool: Tools that allow agreements to be made without direct interaction between the customer and business owner.
General Terms and Conditions: The general terms that apply to businesses.
